CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi police are investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday night in a parking lot at La Palmera Mall.
According to police, they believe the shooting started as a confrontation between two men when one of them pulled a gun and began shooting up into the air.
Currently, police are investigating the incident and know very little about what happened at the mall. Police are questioning witnesses on what they saw during the confrontation.
Police are concerned that somebody would open fire in a part of the city that is so busy.
"Anytime you have a concentrated amount of people the likelihood of being injured through stray bullets crossfire increase dramatically, and this is probably one of the most concentrated areas in our city, so we have officers working inside and outside," Lt. Nicholas Kless said.
Police have said they have some leads and currently no injuries are reported.
You can call police at 361-886-2600 if you have any information on the incident.
