CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The 'Mayor's Big Bang 4th of July Celebration' is getting ready to take over downtown.
Part of that special takeover means many downtown streets will be closed to traffic.
To avoid traffic headaches, 'the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority' is offering free rides for the celebration.
Managing Director of Public Relations Rita Patrick said that to avoid traffic and delays, 'Park and Ride' with the RTA.
"If they are going to go out and have a great day at the 'Mayor's Big Bang' event we encourage them to park and ride at city hall so they can go down and not worry about parking. Go down, have a great time," said Patrick.
Catch a ride on a city bus and even bring your chairs and coolers along for the ride.
