NEW: Woman charged after crashing into wall in Flour Bluff area Wednesday morning

CCPD said the woman was suffering from minor injuries when they found her walking away from the scene around 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 59-year-old spent Wednesday morning in a local hospital, facing charges after CCPD officers found her suffering from injuries and walking away from the scene of a crash on SPID and Waldron Road. 

The single-car accident happened at 3:15 a.m.at the 10300 block of S. Padre Island Drive. Officers determined that the driver's white passenger car was traveling westbound near the highway when she failed to maintain a single lane of travel, hitting the curb, and forcing the car to travel across multiple lanes of travel and crashing into wall.

She was not arrested at the time, but is facing charges for failing to remain and report, and leaving the scene of the accident, 

3NEWS first followed reports of a crash at South Padre Island Drive and Waldron Road in Flour Bluff, bringing traffic to a standstill. 

TxDOT's Drive Texas website does not appear to show any signs of an accident or closures in the area where the crash was reported as of 6 a.m.
