ROBSTOWN, Texas — Robstown police are investigating an overnight shooting that claimed the life of one man and injured another.
According to police, it happened around 6:41 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of West Avenue G.
Police said when they arrived at the scene, they found 52-year-old James Rojas Sr. laying in the roadway with a gunshot wound to his chest. They also found his son, 28-year-old James Rojas Jr., in the passenger's seat of a vehicle. Police said Rojas Jr. was dead from an apparent gunshot to the area of his right ear.
Two men were taken into custody at the scene of the crime and questioned by Robstown police. One of them, 38-year-old Carlos Hernandez Silva, was arrested in connection with this case of murder and aggravated assault.
The other male, 26-year-old Jesse Trevino, was arrested on unrelated warrant out of Nueces County for injury to a child, elderly or disabled person.
Robstown police said this was not a random act of violence and that the male subjects knew each other.
