Daughter of murder victim booked into Nueces County Jail

Serena Escamilla is accused of shooting her mother, 45-year old Esperanza Escamilla long the 200 block of Blevins Street last week.

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) — Corpus Christi Police say 26-year old Serena Escamilla was booked into the Nueces County Jail around 9:30PM Monday on a murder charge. Escamilla is accused of shooting her mother, 45-year old Esperanza Escamilla last week along the 200 block of Blevins Street.

The shooting broke out at the home during an altercation between the mother and daughter on May 1st. Shots were fired and both women ended up with gunshot injuries.

The mother, Esperanza Excamilla, was killed. As for the daugher, Serena Escamilla, she was sent to the hospital and was released Monday night just before 6:30PM. She has since been booked into the Nueces County Jail.
