The David Strickland capital murder trial continued Thursday as jurors heard the Texas Rangers' interview with Strickland following his arrest in 2014.
The taped interrogation lasted over three hours and toward the end, Strickland gave police a confession.
Strickland is accused of sexually assaulting Mollie Olgin and her girlfriend Kristene Chapa before shooting them both in the head, killing Olgin and severely injuring Chapa, at a Portland Park in the summer of 2012.
Texas Ranger Randy Aguirre testified about the interrogation that took place upon his arrest in 2014. Strickland was questioned for over three hours before Strickland said he did it, going back on his words soon after. However, when Defense Attorney John Gilmore asked Aguirre if he thought that Strickland had given a confession during the interview, he said yes.
A Department of Public Safety computer forensics expert also testified that he found evidence of a letter prosecutors say Strickland wrote giving details of the murder after examining the defendant's laptop.
