CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Three teens were arrested last Thursday after Corpus Christi police discovered them parked in a stolen car, donning ski masks and gloves in what appeared to be suspicious activity.

A witness in the 7600 block of Bullrider Drive called authorities at 8:46 a.m., just as CCPD celebrated the ribbon cutting of its new state-of-the-art training facility.

One of the department's drone operators heard the call while he was recording the ceremony from above. That's when the department said he used the technology to track the suspects down and get eyes on them before units arrived on the scene.

The witness told officers that they saw two men parked in an alleyway getting in and out of the vehicle with the ski masks.

When police arrived, they converged on the vehicle and made contact with the three men inside.  All three were wearing gloves, and two of them were wearing full ski masks, per CCPD.

Authorities determined that the car had been reported stolen. A handgun, stolen checks and illegal narcotics were found inside.

Officers arrested 18-year-old Jose Manuel Esquivel for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, unlawful carrying of a weapon, and engaging in organized criminal activity.

17-year-old Jeremiah Cole Anderson was arrested for fraudulent use of identifying information, possession of a controlled substance and engaging in organized criminal activity.

And Jonah Morris, 18 was arrested for engaging in organized criminal activity.
