Early voting begins Monday for Nov. 7 election, Corpus Christi and Kingsville will vote on separate 'Prop A's'

Several Coastal Bend cities will head to the polls for the first day of early voting on Monday. Here is a look at what they will be voting on.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Early voting kicks off on Monday for the Nov. 7 election.

Texans will decide the fate on 14 constitutional amendments.

Ingleside and Tuloso-Midway residents will be voting on school bond proposals and the city of Robstown is set to vote on a city council race.

One measure on the ballot here at home in the Coastal Bend is Proposition-A. Elected officials hope to get voter approval to re-purpose the existing quarter-cent sales tax. Part of the proposition is the Convention Center Hotel which would be built and managed by the private sector.

Residents in Kingsville will also have their own 'Prop A,' which will determine whether the city can allocate a portion of its hotel tax to rejuvenate the building that currently houses the King Ranch Museum and Henrietta Memorial Center.

This proposal aims to institute a venue tax equivalent to a 2 per cent hotel occupancy tax.

Kingsville officials stress that the venue tax is not a property tax and will not be added to your property tax bill.

Early voting is Oct. 23 to Nov. 3.

Election day is Nov. 7.

You can check your voter registration status on your county's election website.
