CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Emergency repairs on the Harbor Bridge have traffic backed up Thursday in the southbound lanes of Hwy. 181.
Harbor Bridge Project spokeswoman Lynn Allison told 3NEWS on Thursday afternoon the detours to Beach and Burleson streets were caused by emergency guardrail and roadway work needing to be done to the main lanes.
A news release states the work is expected to be complete by 3 p.m.
Drivers needing to get into Corpus Christi from the Portland side of the bridge are being detoured at Beach Avenue and will need to follow the W. Causeway Boulevard frontage road to get back onto US 181, right past Burleson Street.
This is a developing story. 3NEWS will provide updates as they become available.
