CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — An elderly woman is dead Monday after a large mobile-home structure caught fire in Falfurrias on Monday.
Her identity has not yet been released.
Falfurrias fire officials have been working the scene since 10 a.m. Monday, and fire chief Ruben Ramirez said that while the fire is under control, it is still burning too hot to be able to recover the woman's remains.
Brooks County dispatch told 3NEWS on Monday afternoon that more than 35 firefighters are working to put out flames in the 600 block of West Holland Street.
The structure on fire is three mobile homes that have been attached to create one large structure, Ramirez said.
It is currently unknown how the fire began.
