Falfurrias resident Maria Lemus Trevino turned 108 years old on Tuesday and a big celebration was held at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall.
Trevino was born in Mexico on March 13, 1910, and traveled with her parents to the U.S. when she was 15 years old. She became a U.S. citizen when she turned 18 and has been in Falfurrias ever since.
Relatives said Trevino still lives at home and attends church every Sunday. She is the oldest parishioner and citizen in Falfurrias.
