Farley Boat Works assembles a boat from start to finish ahead of the Wooden Boat Festival

Admission is free for the festival and will take place in Port Aransas October 20 - 22.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Calling all boat builders, carpenters, and woodworkers, this year's Wooden Boat Festival in Port Aransas will test your skills and be the perfect fit for you!

Frankie Cabrera is the manager of Farley Boat Works, what he calls a 'working museum'. He encourages builders of all skill levels to participate in the festivities October 20 - 22.

"We actually ask if you haven't built a boat to come down so we can teach you how to build one," he said.

Admission is free and there will be plenty of activities for the entire family to enjoy including the Paella Fiesta Competition.

Here's what you can expect each day:

Friday, October 20:

  • 8 – 9 a.m. — Coastal Market Vendors, Food Trucks and Display Boats Begin Setup
  • 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. — Family Boat Build Begins
  • 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. — Food Trucks, Coastal Market, Kids Activities and Live Music

Saturday, October 21:

  • 8 – 9 a.m. — Coastal Market Vendors, Food Trucks and Display Boats Begin Setup
  • 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. — Family Boat Build Continues
  • 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. — Food Trucks, Coastal Market, Kids Activities and Live Music

Sunday, October 22:

  • 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. — Family Boat Build Continues
  • 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. — Food Trucks, Coastal Market, Kids Activities and Live Music
  • Noon — Boat Show Awards
  • 2 p.m. — Champagne Launch of New Farley Fleet at the Boat Ramp
