Texas Sealife Center to host 3rd Annual Texas Sea Turtle Festival

The event kicks off with a 5k Turtle Trot at Briscoe King Pavilion at 8 a.m.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Since 2012,  local non-profit, Texas Sealife Center, has been rescuing and rehabilitating Coastal Bend Sea Turtles and birds. This Saturday, Oct. 5, you can help them further their mission at their 3rd Annual Sea Turtle Festival.

The event is taking place at the Briscoe King Pavilion and starts at 8 a.m., along with a 5k Turtle Trot.

Not much of a runner? No worries! From at 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. the community is invited to join the Texas Sealife Center at the pavilion to enjoy numerous food trucks, vendors, kids' activities, and live music from Jerry Ward, Kevin Kurtz and Gritty Fish.

The non-profit's director of rehabilitation, Amanda Terry joined First Edition to share why it's important to support local wildlife and gave viewers a close up look at some of the center's sea turtle patients.

All proceeds for the event will go towards befitting the non-profit. If you'd like to learn more, click here.
