CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Florida Panthers are one win away from a sweep at in the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. Backup Goalie Anthony Stolarz was a Corpus Christi IceRay in the 2011/2012 season.
Cassidy Lang, President of the Corpus Christi IceRays tells 3News it is an honor for Stolarz since not everyone gets to put their name on the cup. Lang says they are happy he made it to the National Hockey League. Stolarz started his hockey career in Corpus Christi.
Lang worked with Stolarz when he was an IceRays goalie, and describes him as a funny. IceRays officials saw potential in Stolarz.
The IceRays just released their upcoming season schedule.
