Victims identified after head-on crash between Skidmore and Tynan kills three teens, 21-year-old man

Three teenagers and a 21-year-old man from Arlington were killed Saturday, according to DPS. The agency has now released the names of three of the victims.

JIM WELLS COUNTY, Texas — A head-on crash killed four people on Hwy. 359 between Skidmore and Tynan on Saturday.

Three teenagers were killed: A 17-year-old male driver who has been identified as Roland Rain Saldana from Corpus Christi, a 17-year-old male passenger named Erick James Duhon from Sandia and a 16-year-old female passenger from Mathis whose identity has not yet been released. 

A 21-year-old man from Arlington also was killed. He was identified Sunday as Jason Mikhail Balsom. 

Department of Public Safety Public Information Officer Harold 'Rob' Mallory said the accident happened at around 4:30 p.m. Saturday when the teenagers' 2006 Chevy Silverado was traveling northbound on the one-lane highway.

He said the truck tried to pass other vehicles using the southbound lane and hit a 2021 Nissan Rogue driven by Balsom.
