Gene Seaman recognized as 'Hometown Hero'

Seaman was a one-time golden glove boxing champion and is currently an accomplished businessman and real estate developer.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Hundreds of Rotarians gathered Thursday night at the Corpus Christi Country Club to pay tribute to one of their members.

The longtime Republican lawmaker and former state representative Gene Seaman was honored as one of the club's hometown heroes.

Seaman received the group's Paul Harris Fellow Award which was named for an early Rotarian who established a foundation to help fund good works all around the world.

According to Seamon, Thursday nights award is meant to highlight all of the charity.

Seaman was a one-time golden glove boxing champion and is currently an accomplished businessman and real estate developer.

Recently Seamon was tapped by Governor Greg Abbott to serve on the Texas committee charged with helping Hurricane Harvey survivors to rebuild.
