CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Nearly 20 students at Gregory-Portland High School ran into some scheduling complications during their first week back.
It began when some students noticed the programs of interest they signed up for didn't show up on their schedule. This prompted parents to post to social media in frustration, alleging the programs could have been cut.
However, G-PISD Chief Communications and Engagement Officer Crystal Matern says that was not the case.
"Our staff became aware of that and that was something that by the end of the school day, they were able to reach out to their families and let them know that wasn't our intention to cancel any programs," she said.
Matern added that a campus that size, housing 1,400 to 1,500 students any given year, scheduling shifts between students is not uncommon to see.
