NEW DETAILS: Suspect arrested after Ingleside chase ends in front of SPID Home Depot

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — DPS is sharing more new details with 3NEWS on the high-speed chase that ended with an arrest at a Corpus Christi Home Depot on Monday night. 

Sgt. Rob Mallory said that the pursuit first began on Hwy. 181 near Gregory. Jonathan Garcia, a 32-year-old of Santa Rosa who has been identified as the driver, was called in for erratic driving throughout Portland. 

A trooper spotted him driving the wrong way on the 181-frontage road at Wildcat Drive. The trooper caught up with him near Buddy Ganem and attempted a traffic stop. That it when Garcia took off and the pursuit toward Corpus Christi began. 

The suspect was arrested after leading Texas DPS officials on a chase as he lead them all the way to Corpus Christi on Monday night, Sgt. Mallory said.

Once the suspect entered Corpus Christi city limits, CCPD assisted DPS with the chase which they were able stop at the Home Depot off of SPID.
