Islander students participate in a clean up at TAMU-CC

They branched out from the trails near the school all the way to nearby beaches and parking lots.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —

Islanders with the 'TAMU-CC Student Volunteer Connection' were out bright and early to do some early spring cleaning on campus!

Today's clean up is a kick off to homecoming and is held once in fall and once leading into spring.

They branched out from the trails near the school all the way to nearby beaches and parking lots.

Students said the bi-annual event is a way for them to take even more pride in their school.

"It means a lot not only to the environment but to the morale of campus,” Student Volunteer Connection Co-Coordinator at TAMU-CC, Matthew Johnson said. “There's a certain pride that comes not only with volunteering but volunteering with your campus or org. We have a ton of orgs out here. They're all coming out here to show their spirit and their dedication to Corpus Christi and that really shows, especially when homecoming comes around and we get to see all the fun spirit."
