CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — We all know this time of year can be stressful, for both adults and kids.
That's why students at Incarnate Word Academy stepped up to offer some relief as part of its Puppies Relieving Pressures event, put on by the school's 'Angels Defeating Mental Illness' group.
Students were invited to stop and visit with furry friends from the Gulf Coast Humane Society, which organizers said gave students a break after taking some major exams.
"It’s a great opportunity because we just took our final exams for this semester and I feel like everybody was really tense and stressed and now they get to enjoy all this, and I feel like that’s a great opportunity," said eighth-grader Matthew Bagala.
The dogs invited to help students Wednesday are also up for adoption at the Gulf Coast Humane Society.
