CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Jury selection has been postponed for the trial of Eugene Reid, the man responsible for shooting and killing 29-year-old Richard Gonzalez on May 13, 2021 on the 2800 block of Ruth St.
According to the defense attorney, it's due to some additional matters before the state that is causing them to reevaluate and give the defense more time to look at the additional discovery.
Also, the upcoming holiday was another factor because the trial is expected to last a week and a half.
Reid faces a charge of murder and was arrested in November of 2021. Jury members are being asked to come back on July 11.
