Kingsville Fire Station No. 3 renderings to be presented to city commission

It would be Kingsville's first new fire station in decades.

KINGSVILLE, Texas — The City of Kingsville could soon be expanding its fire department into a new building.

The latest renderings for Kingsville Fire Station No. 3 will be presented to Kingsville City Commission this week.

It would be Kingsville's first new fire station in decades, which would be more than 70 years by the time it is planned to open.

Fire officials in Kingsville explained why they chose the designs in the renderings.

"We've tried to keep the design and the face of the station to, kind of, reflect the community," Kingsville Fire and Emergency Medical Services Chief Juan J.J. Adame said.

Fire Station No. 3 would be located in the southern part of Kingsville, according to Adame. He said they chose the new station's potential location based on what would most benefit Kingsville citizens.

Adame said the city currently has two fire stations and the last one was built in 1955.

"We're seeing more growth now," Adame said. "This will give an opportunity to give better not only fire, but also EMS coverage for our citizens."

Adame said the new fire station would include safety features with its modern design. It would include a fire truck and medic unit.

"Kingsville Fire is a full-service department," Adame said. "So, not only do we provide fire, but we also provide EMS, hazardous materials response, rescue—those type of things of a modern fire department."

The Kingsville City Commission will make the final decision about the potential new fire station. Adame said they will determine if any changes are needed when the latest renderings are presented this week.

Adame added that as they progress toward opening it, they are trying to increase the fire department staff every budget year.

"What we try to do is anticipate now what it's going to take to staff and operate a fire station in 2026," Adame said.

Fire Station No. 3 is projected to open in Fall 2026.
