KINGSVILLE, Texas — Border Patrol agents from the Kingsville station interrupted a human smuggling attempt on Tuesday, according to a news release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Agents working the Javier Vega Checkpoint in Hebbronville found 13 migrants, including two unaccompanied minors, trying to conceal themselves in frozen broccoli after sending a truck to a secondary inspection station, the statement said.
The temperature in the truck was 51 degrees (Fahrenheit) when the migrants were discovered.
The driver was arrested and the migrants, who were found to be in good health were "processed accordingly." They were found to be from Mexico and Central America.
