CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Nueces County jury found Corpus Christi man, Kristian Garcia, guilty of burglary with intent to kidnap. However, a plea deal is sending the 27-year-old to prison for a long time.
In June 2021, an 18-year-old mother and her one-year-old baby girl were taken and eventually found safe two days later. Prosecutors say the kidnapper was Garcia, the mother's ex-boyfriend.
On Friday, Garcia was found guilty of those charges, but also took a plea deal on murder charges for a separate case.
He's been sentenced to 25 years in prison for each charge. The sentences will be served concurrently.
