Laura Hall set to be released from jail

Back in August of 2005, the body of 21-year-old Jennifer Cave was found in a bathtub of an apartment belonging to Colton Pitonyak.

A former Carroll High School graduate was brutally murdered in the Austin area and now coming to Thursday one of the convicted accomplices in the crime is set to be released from prison.

Back in August of 2005, the body of 21-year-old Jennifer Cave was found in a bathtub of an apartment belonging to Colton Pitonyak. Cave's body had been shot and stabbed multiple time and was partially dismembered.

Pitonyak was convicted of murder after fleeing to Mexico with his friend Laura Hall.

Investigators said Hall helped to dismember Cave's body.

Hall was sentenced to 10 years in prison for tampering with physical evidence. Hall is set to be released on parole Thursday, five months before the end of her sentence. For Jennifer Cave's mother, Sharon Sedwick, it's a day she has been dreading.

"It's unresolved every single day. Every single day that I don't hear Jennifer's voice or get to talk to her it's unresolved," "She has served her time that was given her, and we have known this day was coming for a very long time," Sedwick said.

Pitonyak is serving a 55-year sentence for Cave's murder.

Hall is currently in a facility in Lockhart but will be released in Gatesville, she will be under the mandatory supervision and will not be able to contact Cave's family. Hall cannot go back to Travis County and will have to wear a GPS monitor.
