CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It was implemented just last week and already, its future is in question.
We're talking about "Parole in Place", new immigration program that would put certain non-citizen spouses of U.S. Citizens on the path to citizenship.
A lawsuit was filed Friday by sixteen conservative-led states, including Texas, that seek to put an end to the program, claiming it gives amnesty to people who already broke the law.
However, it's not too late to apply.
"The judge has not granted an injunction yet," Attorney with Rodriguez & Moretzsohn PLLC Debra Rodriguez said. "And so, after this, I'm going back to the office, I'm working on those applications, and the goal is to get as many filed as we can in case an injunction does happen."
If an injunction is granted, no new applications will be accepted for "Parole in Place".
