CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — This week we have reported on the deaths of two children, both under the age of two, who passed away after being left in a vehicle.
Tonight, a local radio station is dialing in to help prevent any hot car deaths from happening again.
The general manager of Majic 104.9 Carlos Lopez said he knew instantly he wanted to help in the best way he could, by sending a public service announcement to the station's listeners.
It reminds parents, grandparents and all of us to not leave anyone behind.
"This one really hit home for all of us in the community, it has broken a lot of hearts. We feel for the families and these children as well but it is our responsibility to do something about it. And as media partners this is the definition of being a public servant," said Lopez.
The message will not just air here in Corpus Christi but also in San Antonio and Victoria.
Lopez is also asking state leaders and TxDOT to help spread the word and hopes other stations and markets will follow the movement he says god put in his heart.
