Man with long criminal history takes plea deal for 30 years in prison

The terms will be served concurrently, meaning he'll be serving both terms at the same time.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A Corpus Christi man with a long criminal history accepted a plea deal Monday and will be going to prison for the next 30 years.

36-year-old Seth Wolf, who police said is a known gang member, pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery in Nueces County but will also be serving an additional 30 years after reaching a plea agreement in San Patricio County.

The terms will be served concurrently, meaning he'll be serving both terms at the same time.

Wolf's Nueces County criminal record began in 2000 when he was arrested for misdemeanor theft.

For the next 14 years, Wolf stepped up his run-ins with the law getting in trouble for everything from evading arrest, possession of marijuana, failure to identify, resisting arrest, assault family violence, and even unlawful carrying of a weapon -- all misdemeanor charges.

As far as felonies go, Wolf has been arrested for felony evading, felony theft, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance.

After Monday's plea deal, those charges may be the final entries in his criminal record.

"It's a done deal. There's no appeal. It will run concurrent with another sentence he had of 30 years for another aggravated case out of San Patricio County," said Prosecutor Joe Mike Pena of the Nueces County District Attorney's Office. "He's a violent person and on the paper to TDC, I put there that I do not recommend parole or early release because he's a violent and dangerous person."

In 2009 Wolf was convicted of attempting to commit indecency with a child, sexual contact. Three times he was arrested for failure to regiseter as a sex offender.

Pena summed up Wolf's criminal history this way:

"When he's released, he's not going to be -- he won't be young anymore, and hopefully we can keep him in there long enough where he won't do this to anybody," Pena said.
