CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Leandro Leon, 18, appeared in front of 214th District Court Judge Inna Klein Monday afternoon on four charges for the deadly shooting on Masterson Drive in October 2023.
The first three counts were for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree charge and first degree murder.
Police say Leon was involved in the deadly shooting that resulted in the death of 17-year-old Ricardo Jose Fuentes.
Police say dozens of people were in the street for a party that got out of hand. That's when they were called to the scene. While police were there, they say Fuentes ran up and shot at a car driving away from the party.
An officer responding shot and killed him.
Police later revealed Leon as a second gunman in that incident and booked him on three charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Leon's bail is set for $250,000.
