Moonlight in the Gardens features more than you know this year

"Moonlight in the Gardens" is the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center's 12th annual signature fundraiser Friday, October 12 at 5:30 a.m. at the Ortiz center. Nueces County Judge Loyd Neal and his wife Mrs.Thetis Neal will be honored at this year's event.

Corpus Christi (Kiii News) — The "out of this world" 2018 event, benefiting the South Texas Botanical Gardens environmental education and conservation programs, keeps its casual format and interplanetary travel theme with continuous entertainment inside and outside the venue.

There will be three auctions with online bidding, Stellar Spirits, Pictures with Parrots, Aphrodite's Patio Party, and music by The Deadbeats, Wine Pull, Best Steak on the Planet, and Nep-Tunes by pop and rock favorite Flashback.

Due to the Judge's intense Texas A&M loyalty, guests may expect touches of maroon in the décor!

Event co-chairs are Botanical Gardens Board members Dr. Mary Jane Garza, and CITGO's Government & Public Affairs Manager Christina Cisneros-Guzman.

Program master of ceremonies is State Representative Todd Hunter. Flour Bluff NJROTC will present colors, and Mike Bergsma will sing the National Anthem.

Table sponsorships are being sold, from $1,500 to $10,000. Individual seating went on sale September 10, at $125 members, $150 others. Event proceeds benefit Botanical Gardens environmental education programs. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED by October 8.
