CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Hilda Ann Adame requested her bond be reduced Wednesday.
Adame was arrested Tuesday and charged after Corpus Christi Police Department officers said she told them she forgot to drop off her 22-month-old daughter Harley at day care and left her in a hot car after going to work at Tom Browne Middle School.
She arrived at school 8 a.m. and wasn't found around 1 p.m.
She is charged with injury to a child with serious bodily injury -- a first-degree felony -- and abandoning/endangering a child imminent danger, a second-degree felony. She is requesting bond on the second charge be lowered from $200,000, claiming it is excessive.
The bond amount for both charges totals $900,000. Adame is currently in jail.
The Communities in Schools teacher assigned to Tom Browne Middle School has not yet been indicted, according to court documents, which also show she is being represented by former Nueces County First Asst. District Attorney Angelica Hernandez.
