CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Located in the heart of the downtown SEA District you can find the one-of-a-kind Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures. The museum is celebrating a very special milestone this year with its 50th anniversary!
On Wednesday, First Edition caught up with Director of Operations Richard Hafemeister who has been there for six of the museum's 50 years. He said it's been nothing short of rewarding being a part of history when surrounded by it.
"It is a reminder when you hit these milestones that it is bigger than ourselves, it always is, but when you hit these round numbers it reminds you of that fact very suddenly and very dramatically," Hafemeister said.
You can visit the museum and wish them a happy anniversary every Wednesday through Saturday from noon until 5 p.m.
