CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Administrators said they are excited to move into their new $42 million campus this summer and prepare to welcome students to it in August.
It was last November when the Corpus Christi Independent School District's Bond 2016 was approved to revitalize Baker Middle School. The campus will have a lot of new improvements, including better security, newer technology, and more room for its students.
Baker Middle School Principle John Dobbins said construction for the new school is going great and that they're excited to be starting the new school year right.
"I'm just excited. The biggest thing is we here at Baker Middle School truly want to thank the voters for approving the bond," Dobbins said. "That they were willing to invest in their future at CCISD, and we greatly appreciate it."
Dobbins said they are scheduled to move in to the new school sometime in mid-July, where teachers and students will be ready to learn this August.
