CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — More than 600 blankets were donated to kids and youth in the foster care system, right here in the Coastal Bend.
It's all thanks to the folks who make up New Life Church in Corpus Christi.
Over the last month, they've been collecting new unused blankets to donate to Agape Ranch, a non-profit organization that helps foster kids and families.
While many organizations are hosting toy drives for the holidays, the church hopes the warmth of the blankets help the kids know they are loved.
"We really hope all the children will enjoy their fluffy blankets to let them know they are seen and are loved," said New Life Church’s Kitzya Lebron.
"A lot of organizations are doing toy drives right now but a fuzzy blanket just brings a different level of comfort and knowing that somebody cares about you so much to give you a blanket," Agape Ranch community relations coordinator Shannon Murphy.
