CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A planned change in location for the new Mary Carroll High School campus was finally approved on Monday.
The Corpus Christi Independent School District announced Monday that the new campus will be going up on the corner of Saratoga Boulevard and Kostoryz Road, just down the street from the previous location, which was the corner of Weber Road and Saratoga Boulevard.
Ever since the 2018 school bond election in which voters approved funding for the new campus, district leaders have been meeting with City, County, the Chamber of Commerce and area military leaders trying to come up with the best place for the new campus.
Concerns were raised that the first location might jeopardize pilot safety and training at the nearby Cabaniss Field but now the school district says there's a general agreement that the new location will be best for all concerned.
Monday's approval means the district will now move forward on finalizing the land purchase for the new location.
