CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — 3News spoke with Solomon Ortiz Jr. following his win in the State House District 34 race Tuesday. The Democratic primary winner said it had been a long eight months since his campaign started and his campaign was thrilled when they started seeing the early voting totals come in.
"We're just excited, and you know, truly honored by the amount of support we got," said Ortiz.
Roland Barrera also spoke with 3News following the announcement of his loss to Ortiz. The candidate thanked his supporters for their hard work in getting him where they did and says his plan moving forward is to continue serving the Coastal Bend community.
Barrera said he and his team would be 'licking their wounds' for about a week but will be back on their feet soon.
