89th Annual Nueces County Junior Livestock Show parade kicks off family fun-filled Saturday

From a kid's BBQ cookoff to a costumed dog show and a Queens contest, the Nueces County Jr. Livestock Show had a busy day.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The 89th Annual Nueces County Jr. Livestock Show parade kicked off a busy schedule of family friendly events Saturday morning!

Parade participants and onlookers gathered in downtown Robstown for some good ol'fashion fun honoring this year's participants.

Floats flooded the streets following emergency service vehicles who led the way. The Robstown High School marching band filled one of the floats to the brim with musicians who were happy to ride along with the parade. In fact, many on board had never participated in before!

First chair baritone Ryan Vasquez stopped to speak with 3News just before hopping onto his float.

"It feels awesome- I know a hand full of people in the livestock- they're all awesome people. I've seen some of the animals, I hope they get big prizes."
NCJLS's 2023 Queen Gisele Delgado rode along a royal float, ready to hand over the torch to a new heir at the 2024 Queen's Contest, which begins at 7 p.m. at the Tuloso-Midway Center.

Those ladies are competing for the honored title of Queen in addition to a $5,000 scholarship that will go toward their college education.
