One injured, hospitalized after fire breaks out at home in Robstown

The fire broke out at just before 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

ROBSTOWN (Kiii News) — One person was injured and taken to the hospital after a fire broke out Thursday morning at Bosquez Street and Mainer Road in Robstown.

Emergency responders got the call at around 11:30 a.m. Thursday after neighbors first smelled smoke and then saw the large plume billowing from the house. When firefighters arrived they found a man believed to be in his early 60s who was unable to get out of his front door.

The victim was rushed to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital and then transferred to a burn unit at San Antonio's Military Medical Center.

There has been no word as to what started the fire.
