CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Thousands of rubber ducks are expected to take the plunge for the ninth annual Rubber Duck Roundup at Cole Park.
The Memorial Day tradition benefits the South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind. The non-profit has been employing the visually impaired and blind since 1964.
Proceeds from the roundup provide additional resources for employees who can operate heavy machines.
"We can expand our customer base and the services that we provide and so that in turn provides employment opportunities," public affairs Alana Manrow said.
The Rubber Duck Roundup will take place Saturday, May 25.
