CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Another Sunday, another chance to give back!
As a proud partner of the Coastal Bend Day of Giving fundraiser, KIII's Domingo Live is counting down the weeks until the Coastal Bend Community Foundation's biggest annual tradition rolls back around on Nov. 14, 2023.
For its 15th year, the Coastal Bend Day of Giving will raise money to help fund more than 60 local nonprofits that serve a vast array of causes and communities across the Coastal Bend.
KIII, a proud partner of the Day of Giving campaign, will feature a spotlight interview with a participating nonprofit every week on Domingo Live leading up to the day of the fundraiser.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Coastal Bend (BBBS-CB) Branch Director Kimberly Perez joined us on Domingo Live to introduce our viewers to her organization, its mission and how folks can support it on Day of Giving.
BBBS-CB's mission is to give local children facing adversity a positive, one-to-one relationship with an adult mentor, support system and role model known as a "Big Brother" or "Big Sister."
Each adult mentor is vetted thoroughly and trained in various leadership and mentorship programs prior to meeting with their mentee, who the mentor is meant to visit with regularly.
Adults of any gender that are interested in becoming a "Big Brother" or "Big Sister" can learn more about the volunteer registration process, mentor training programs and requirements at the link here.
You can help support BBBS-CB's mission and others across the Coastal Bend by donating online to the Coastal Bend Day of Giving fundraiser on Nov. 14 starting at 12 a.m. CST. Early donations will also be accepted during the fundraiser's Early Giving donation period from Nov. 6-13.
Further information and updates about the 2023 Day of Giving fundraiser can be found on its official website and social media pages.
