CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The People Assisting Animal Control (PAAC) received another huge grant to help it tackle the stray animal problem in the seven-county area it serves.
The Coastal Bend Community Foundation is going to give PAAC $200,000 so it can continue to help control the pet population.
"What we're doing right now, we increased our capacity we used to do about 4,000 surgeries a year," PAAC founder Cheryl Martinez said. "We are now doubling our capacity, we have six veterinarians working for us now."
Martinez also told 3NEWS they are now able to also help surrounding cities that have never had any resources to spaying and neutering.
