CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — While Beryl continues to make its way up the Texas Gulf Coast, Padre Island visitors flocked to the beach Sunday despite the red-flag warning in place.
The storm didn't stop anyone from trying to come outside or get into the water.
In fact, a lot of people were lined up against the Michael J. Ellis Beach Sea Wall still trying to enjoy their vacations.
People say they are not really concerned with Beryl and that they're just here to have a good time, although they said they are also paying attention to conditions as they change.
"It's not as bad as it was going to be because it's going towards Houston instead of us," said one young beachgoer.
However, it is not advised to be swimming during red-flag warning conditions.
