CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Kingsville Police Department is looking for the car involved in a hit and run accident that left a 42-year-old man seriously injured, lying in a ditch for several hours Thursday morning.
In a press release the police department said that officers were dispatched at 7:33 a.m. to a man laying in a ditch near the 3300 block of South US Highway 77 access road.
Police believe the man was using his motorized bicycle to get to work when he was hit. The victim was unable to tell first responders what happened.
Investigators found a part to a headlamp and are trying to determine the make and model of the vehicle it came from.
It is believed that the man could have been laying in the ditch for up to five hours.
The victim was transported to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital-Kleberg and then flown to CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline were he is currently in critical condition.
