Occupancy for the town is boosted up to around 70 percent from March 11 through March 19.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — While spring break is only short two weeks, students, families and visitors from all around the state prepare to make their way to Port Aransas.

This is the start of tourism season for the beach town where restaurants, shops and rental homes all see an increase in business.

Occupancy for the town is boosted up to around 70 percent from March 11 through March 19.

This as Port Aransas continues to grow as a city to help accommodate the influx of tourists.

"The economics of the growth and tourism are great for our community, great our county and great for our state," Port Aransas Chamber of Commerce CEO Brett Stawar said. "We continue to grow as a city, we see developments coming in throughout 361 also a lot of natural developments as well so, all of our piers, expansion of board walks, at the nature preserve, some of our attractions are growing as well so you have a whole lot of things going on in Port Aransas."

For generations visitors have made Port Aransas their Spring Break destination.

Stawar also says they are seeing new generations make it their yearly tradition year after year.

He also said the end of March is gonna be a busy time for businesses as families head there to spend the Easter holiday.
