Port Aransas residents clean up discarded tires

The clean up is a two-day event

PORT ARANSAS (Kiii News) — After Hurricane Harvey, several tires were scattered throughout affected cities.

Residents and local officials gathered at the Port Aransas Community Park off of Clark Parkway for a county-wide, tire clean up.

The event was sponsored by County Commissioner of Precinct Four, Brent Chesney and De-Go-La RC&D.

De-Go-La Resource Conservation and Development Councils promote conservation of natural resources. According to their mission statement, they aim to improve the conditions of Texas cities by educating and involving the local community.

The event continues on Sunday, May 6th at the Community Park in Port Aransas, from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M.
