Emilio Reyes, president of the Texas Jazz Festival Society, passed away Friday according to family members. He was 57.
Reyes was a member of the Texas Jazz Festival Society for the last 20 years and was in his second term as president of the organization. He was a longtime employee of the Corpus Christi Army Depot and worked with former Texas Jazz Festival Society President Rick Sanchez there for many years.
Sanchez invited Reyes to a Society meeting 20 years ago and Reyes ended up on the Board of Directors.
According to the Texas Jazz Festival Society's Facebook page, the group will be posting updates about funeral arrangements. They also took time to offer condolences to family and friends.
Emilio Reyes was 57 years old. His cause of death is unknown at this time.
