Passengers aboard a private plane had a rough landing at the Corpus Christi International Airport Tuesday afternoon when the plane slid off the roadway.
Officials said a warning went off in the cockpit. As the plane hit the runway its landing gear collapsed, sending the plane into the grass.
No injuries were reported and airport management said emergency crews had plenty of time to prepare for the landing.
"There were two people inside the aircraft. I don't have information on where they were coming from. The good news is our public safety officers, you know, they train and train for this sort of thing. And luckily we don't have to use their service very often, but when there is an emergency like this one they are out there ready to do whatever they need to do," CCIA Spokesperson Kim Bridger said.
The runway where the plane landed was shut down for a brief time while crews removed the aircraft.
