CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Family and Friends continue to mourn the loss of Ray High School student Andrew Lee Garza Jr. who died this week after being shot.
He was 15 years old.
3NEWS spoke with CCISD District Coordinator Courtney Rios who wanted students to know that there is always help available, all they have to do is ask for it.
"We provide support for every student that comes in and requests," Rios said. "We have seen that the follow-up procedures for our crisis team, we do identify kids that may need additional support to come to us in the days after losing a staff or a student and so we have social workers and campus counselors that then provide support to our students and families."
Experts say to make sure that your child knows not to hesitate in reaching out to a friend or trusted adult when asking for help.
Our thoughts are with the family of Andrew Garza.
