CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The city of Robstown is offering residents an opportunity to dispose of their Christmas trees if they missed out on their chance while ringing in the new year. The city will collect bare trees placed on the curbside by 7 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, and will be picked up by city crews through Friday. Residents will also be able to dispose of their trees at the Public Works Yard at 700 N. Upshaw from Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Corpus Christi Christmas tree lovers will also have an ongoing opportunity to get dispose of their holiday decorations. The city is asking residents to give their real Christmas trees "a new lease on life" by recycling it into mulch through the end of January.
In Corpus Christi, you can set out your real Christmas trees for curb collection during your area's brush and bulky set-out dates. You can find the schedule for your area here.
The city asks you to remove all tinsel, ornaments, ribbons, lights, and bags. They will not accept trees that have been flocked with synthetic dust or powder to look like snow.
A drop-off container is provided at the J.C. Elliott Transfer Station, at 7001 Ayers Street, through Jan. 31. The container will be at the gate 24/7 throughout the month.
