Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce offering free hospitality training

Tourism is the number one industry in their area and they want to make sure all of their guests are happy when they stop by.

ROCKPORT, Texas — The Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce is offering free hospitality training to Coastal Bend businesses thanks to a grant from the Texas Travel Industry Association and the non-profit Tourism Cares.

According to members of the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce, tourism is the number one industry in their area and they want to make sure all of their guests are happy when they stop by.

"It's not just being nice to your customers. It's going over the top to give them the service because every organization, every business -- I don't care if its from hospitals down to restaurants to hotels -- if you don't treat your customer right, they're going to go elsewhere," said Sandy Jumper, vice president of marketing and promotions for the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce.

The training is free to anyone involved with the hospitality business in the Rockport-Fulton area, and it focuses on various topics including phone etiquette and how to treat people from different cultures.
